Rev. Demetrius A. Price

Rev. Demetrius A. Price

His Story

Reverend Demetrius Price is a native Washingtonian – born and raised in Southeast DC. Can any good thing come out of Southeast? Yes, it can! Reverend Price’s ministry journey began at the early age of 10 when he
surrendered his life to Christ and was baptized at the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church in Washington, DC under the leadership of the late Reverend Charles Worthy. There he became very active in the youth ministry,
participating on the step and drama teams, in the youth choir, and so much more.

At the age of 16, God’s call on his life became evident as he assisted his Youth Minister, Reverend Kevin Mincey in establishing a new church called Disciples of Christ Outreach Ministry (DOC) located in Temple Hills, Maryland. At DOC, Reverend Price served as the Youth Director for five years and became a licensed Minister of the Gospel in June 2005. At the age of 21, God led Reverend Price to join Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Washington, DC. At Mount Sinai, he served as the youngest full-time youth minister in the city. He served in this capacity for five years but continued ministry and membership at the church. In July 2012, Reverend Price was ordained. His experience at Mount Sinai developed him both as a man and a minister.

At the age of 26, following his service in youth ministry at Mount Sinai, Reverend Price became the Teen Minister, and later the Youth Minister at Reid Temple AME Church in Glenn Dale, Maryland under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Lee P. Washington. He served in youth ministry at Reid Temple for nine years and ended his time there while serving as both the Youth Minister of the church and the Managing Minister of the evening worship service. Due to his great success and extensive time served in youth ministry, Reverend Price decided to retire from that role and begin his journey into pastoral ministry. In 2021, this new journey began in his service as the Director of Ministry and Assimilation at New Life Church in Laurel, Maryland under the leadership of Pastor Omari Hughes and Pastor Sheleta Fomby.

Reverend Price is trained in head and heart. He received his Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity degrees from Washington Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to the love of his life, Dr. Kendra Price, who is from Bolton, North Carolina. They have an everlasting love for God and for each other; they are purpose partners in marriage and in ministry. To God Be the Glory for the great things He has done!
