First Lady Dr. Kendra D. Price
Her Story
First Lady Dr. Kendra D. Price is a native North Carolinian, raised in the small town of Bolton, North Carolina. At a young age, she began to recognize God’s presence in her life. Psalm 27:1 was the first Bible verse she learned, and that verse was instrumental in leading her to accept Christ at the age of 12. As she grew older, she began to see the significance of Psalm 27:1 in her life. The Lord is her light and salvation; He is the strength of her life.
Lady Price is a lifelong learner with a heart and passion for education. She earned her Bachelor of Psychology degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, followed by her Master of Education degree in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After receiving her master’s degree, she began her career as a school counselor in North Carolina public schools. After four years of serving as a school counselor, she returned to school and proudly earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Howard University in Washington, DC.
Lady Price currently serves as an evaluation specialist with Montgomery County Public Schools in the Office of Shared Accountability. For Maryland’s largest school district, serving over 160,000 students, she designs and conducts research studies to solve educational problems. In this role, she also designs and conducts evaluations of educational programs and policies, and instructional initiatives. She is a researcher by heart with an investigative mind. At an early age, she became fond of the human mind and how people think and behave. This love for the mind has translated into what she believes is the call on her life through ministry—to help liberate the captive mind.
Lady Price is married to her “superman”, the Rev. Demetrius A. Price, Pastor of Union Baptist Church, Easton, MD. The two became one on August 28, 2021, and each day is a reminder that their union is truly God-ordained. He is her purpose mate and the manifestation of God’s favor over her life in human form. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, and watching movies with her husband while enjoying a bag of popcorn. She loves flowers and nature. She is also a lover of basketball; March Madness is one of her favorite times of the year. Lady Price is truly a lover of Christ and a lover of people.
